Miracle Mile and Grey Reef Report - March 22nd
The “Flush” started Monday the 20th on the Reef. It will run for 10 days the Bureau of Rec and WYGF have stated. It has been fishing well so far. The Flush ( in a nut shell they raise the river and then drop it to flush sediment), can fish great. It is like one big San Juan shuffle and can make a lot food available. The afternoons have been awesome as the river settles back. Standard winter patterns- Midges, Worms ( Impalers, rock worms, Sili worms..), leeches, eggs. Streamer bite might not be as good as it was mid winter, but still picking fish up on those as well for the streamer junkies out there. This is a great consistent time of year to fish the Reef, come check it out.
The Mile- road just opened up last week. We had a boat up there 3/21. Found some big boys, not a ton of fish but quality. Similar patterns as on the Reef. Look for the Mile to get better and better. Access might be a little on and off as we move from winter to spring. We are glad we can get up there and excited to get back on it. Quite the snow drifts for a hot minute.
Call the shop and we can help you plan a trip and experience this awesome spring time fishery.
