Miracle Mile Guide Report from June 27th, 2022 - Nick Capson
Spent the last five days on this beautiful stretch of the North Platte. Fishing has been excellent! But keep in mind that the Miracle Mile can giveth and it can taketh. The fish are healthy, hungry and active. I was running anywhere from 5-9ft depending on the water I was fishing at the time. Weight also depends on the depth or speed of the water. In the morning think small midges and PMD nymphs, size 18-22. Red San Juan and rock-worms also brought some fish to the net. Late morning into the afternoon PMD nymphs and emergers were the ticket. In the afternoon I found more fish in the tailouts of the runs. Stoneflies are beginning to molt as well so it doesn’t hurt to throw a Pat’s rubber legs or a golden stonefly pattern. Water clarity was fair up above the bridge. Becoming dirty and filled with floating vegetation below.
